I've just got back from a lovely week in [...]
Every few months I take a walk int town on my lunch break and peruse the military history section of the second hand books in our independent book shop, David’s. I came away today with a couple of additions, one to my true crime reference section and this one for my military history.
I popped over to Stevenage this afternoon. I had [...]
A new shop opened in our town centre yesterday so I thought I'd pop down and see what it sold. I think it's called Toolbox.co.uk or something like that, which is strange as it didn't seem to sell any tools.
It was a nice day, for a change, so I wandered over the town during my lunch break. Every few months I pop into our local independent books shop which has an upper floor full of second hand books. I head for the military history section to see what they've got
I picked up two books on the Roman Army from the second-hand department in my local bookshop this week. I am after some uniform resources for the Romans I've picked up since Salute 2017 and before ordering something from Amazon, I thought I'd see what my local book shop had.
Another trip to my local bookshop, David's during my lunch break today and I picked up these two beauties, "Panzers in the Sand", volumes one and two by Bernd Hartmann.
During one of my lunch breaks, I walked into town and visited the local bookshop. At the back of the shop they have a section of bargain books which usually contains several shelves full of history books which I like to check from time to time to see if they have any good offers.
In June this year, I started a new job. It mean that rather than driving down the motorway for 17 miles, as I had been doing for the previous 15 years, I could walk to work in less than ten minutes. (Actually, I cycle in around 4 minutes).
Having started my WWII German armies, I needed a source for painting the correct colours of the uniforms and equipment.
I have a large library of military history books, so there are bound to be several books with uniform colours in but with my memory being what it is - poor - I'm not entirely sure what I do have in the book collection.
